Any of you who know me understand how difficult these past few weeks have been while we await CKC Policy change. As breeders we are constantly updating our knowledge. To help pass the time we attended a seminar in Ottawa to help us better evaluate puppies. Pat Hastings is a renowned lady who has experience as a breeder, handler and is also an AKC judge. She has evaluated over 25,000 puppies and she teaches her technique to other breeders. It was a mind numbing seminar that will benefit our kennel for many years to come.

Thirty was the attendance goal, over one hundred actually registered.

Pat & her late husband bred over 16 breeds between them over the years.

Understanding the anatomy of a dog is critical.

Here Pat demonstrates the correct hand placements.

Eight weeks is the window, not the size of the dog.
